POP

Server stores and forwards mail for POP clients
Mail destined to the POP client is delivered to a unique mailbox
The POP client can query and retrieve mail from the mailbox
The mailbox is intended as a transient storage place until the POP client retrieves the information.
This interface also provides support for disconnected POP clients
POP clients only connected to the server during mail send/receive
POP is TCP based,
POP3, version implemented by AS/400, is defined in RFC 1725 as having twelve verbs, supported by the AS/400 POP server.
